Welcome to Baileys Corner!
Socializing your canine companion is not that difficult if you start them at an early age. Best time to start is anytime after 8 weeks once they are weaned from the mother. Puppies are in their most sensitive and receptive stage [between 4 and 18 weeks] and are generally accepting of new people, places and dogs, so teaching them to feel comfortable around them will not be difficult. Take them with you everywhere if you can so they can get used to different places people and other dogs. Introducing them to other dogs, must take place gradually and be separated in different play areas in a controlled environment with supervision. After getting Scooter started with the socializing process he now is able to be a part of the pack and know how to interact with his fellow canine champions. Play Time serves a very important purpose for young dogs, especially puppies. In addition to burning off energy, interactive play teaches them how to behave around different types of dogs. It teaches them important rules about bite inhibition and appropriate play.
Not all Dogs like to play especially older mature dogs. So don’t force the issue.
