Welcome to Bailey’s Corner
Remington and Rowland Denver Colorado 2017
Unlike any other breed, they are highly skilled, intelligent, loyal, dedicated, incredibly protective and affectionate. The Doberman Pincher
The Doberman needs to be consistently and thoroughly trained otherwise issues arise when they reside with owners who do not display the proper leadership and/or do not provide enough exercise.
After our initial consultation with Taylor and Steph, regarding dogs and how they operate in their own social structure, it was time for me to teach Remington and Rowland the basic commands starting them with Heel, Sit, Stay, Down and the re-call before handing them over to Steph and Taylor so they could start shadow training with me.
We started them in the back yard in a controlled environment first then we moved out to the front working them in the street with all kinds of distractions.
Through observation and study you can see how quickly Steph and Taylor both gained control and achieved the ultimate goal in owning a dog with tremendous strength and stamina which made my job that much easier.
The best part of this training week for me, is the commitment and dedication of Taylor and Steph in wanting to connect with their dogs and making some changes by setting ground rules and boundaries to re claim what Remington and Rowland have taken from them. The Doberman needs an owner who is willing and able to display a calm yet assertive authority over the dog, and all family members must be firm, confident and consistent when handling their champion canine companion.
Doberman Pinschers are very keen, super energetic with tremendous strength and stamina therefore they need exercise and be taken on a daily, walks or jog, to stimulate them mentally and physically.
Doberman pincher likes to be with their owners and they are not suited to be left alone; they need human interaction and leadership.
Doberman pincher can be good family dogs if the alpha role belongs to the human and if they receive enough exercise, are well trained and are socialized with children.
In closing I would like to thank Dan, Steph, Taylor and Matthew for being the best students in shadow training with me and giving us the opportunity to train Remington and Rowland.
